Tracy K. Smith

Tracy K. Smith's 2011 collection, Life on Mars (Graywolf), won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. Her previous collections are The Body's Question (2003), winner of the Cave Canem prize for best book by an African-American poet, and Duende (2007), which won the James Laughlin Award and the Essence Literary Award. Smith holds an MFA from Columbia University and a BA from Harvard University. A Stegner Fellow at Stanford University from 1997 - 1999, she currently lives in Brooklyn and teaches at Princeton University.
